Mission and Purpose

New Creations Recovery House provides the place and space for men to rebuild their lives through structure, accountability, and community support. Our work goes beyond abstinence. We help residents establish healthy routines, form meaningful connections, participate in positive recreation, and rediscover purpose, connection, and fulfillment.

Getting sober removes the substance. It does not automatically teach someone how to live again. Recovery cannot only be about what someone stops doing; it must also be about what they begin building.

Program Structure & Core Programming

New Creations is designed as a one-year sober-living program. The structure is intended to help each resident move from immediate stability toward dependable recovery habits, productive participation, stronger relationships, and readiness for the next chapter of life.

    Household contribution: Daily chores, cleanliness, respect for shared spaces, and participation in house responsibilities.

    Healthy living: Development of routines, meaningful interests, positive recreation, community connections, and practical life skills.

Typical Weekly Rhythm

Residents balance recovery activity, work or other approved productive commitments, household responsibilities, and house meetings. Employment schedules must fall between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. unless an exception has been approved in advance. The schedule is structured without treating residents like children. The goal is not to babysit men in recovery; it is to create a dependable environment in which responsibility can take root and become normal.

Resident Policies

1. Abstinence and Testing

Residents must remain completely abstinent from alcohol and illicit or non-prescribed substances. Residents may be required to participate in regular or random alcohol and drug testing. Refusal to test, tampering, or a confirmed violation may be treated as a serious program violation.

2. Recovery Participation

Residents must attend at least three recovery meetings per week. Attendance must be documented and verifiable. Residents must also attend two scheduled house meetings each week and maintain active communication with a sponsor or recovery mentor while continuing step work.

3. Work, School, or Service

Each resident must complete at least 40 hours per week of employment, education, or approved volunteering. Residents are expected to be productive members of the household and community. Work schedules must remain within the approved 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. window unless leadership authorizes an exception in advance.

4. Curfew and Attendance

Curfew is 10:00 p.m. nightly. Residents may not leave the property before 5:00 a.m. without prior arrangements. Any exception must be requested and approved before the resident leaves or misses a required obligation.

5. Unapproved Absence

An unapproved absence without notice communicates that the resident no longer resides at New Creations. The resident must arrange to pick up belongings and any money held for him within 48 hours.

6. Cleanliness, Chores, and Inspections

Residents are responsible for daily chores and for keeping personal and shared spaces clean and orderly. Personal spaces and belongings may be inspected at move-in and at random to support safety, sobriety, cleanliness, and compliance with house expectations.

7. Respect and Safety

Bullying, harassment, threats, intimidation, and violence are not tolerated. Residents must treat one another, staff, visitors, the property, and the Greenville community with respect. Violence, harassment, threats, or substance use may result in immediate discharge.

Procedures & Admissions

Admissions Procedure

  1. Submit an application: All requested information should be complete and truthful.
  2. Application review: New Creations reviews the application for completeness and basic program fit.
  3. Screening interview: The applicant participates in a conversation about recovery goals, needs, readiness, and program expectations.
  4. Leadership review and verification: Program leadership reviews the available information and may request clarification or supporting information.
  5. Decision: The applicant may be approved, denied, waitlisted, or asked to provide additional information.
  6. Move-in confirmation: Approved applicants receive written confirmation of the programming fee, payment timing, move-in requirements, and any remaining conditions.

Important: Submitting an application does not guarantee admission. Admission depends on screening, available space, and the applicant's willingness and ability to meet program expectations.

Ongoing Accountability

  • Meeting verification: Documentation of required recovery meeting attendance.
  • Weekly participation: Employment, education, or volunteer hours must remain current and verifiable.
  • House communication: House meetings address schedules, progress, and needs.
  • Testing and inspections: Regular or random checks to maintain a safe, sober home.
  • Advance approval: Curfew or schedule exceptions must be requested prior.

Violation & Discharge

Program leadership reviews reported violations based on severity, pattern, and safety impact. Responses range from written warnings to program termination. Substance use, violence, threats, or severe violations result in immediate discharge. Unapproved absences are treated as an end of placement requiring belongings to be picked up within 48 hours.

Monthly programming fee

The payment due date, accepted payment methods, move-in requirements, and any applicant-specific arrangements are confirmed in writing before admission. Residents are responsible for following the financial terms provided to them.
